A small breakfast in Manhattan Beach at le pain quotidien.
Los Angeles

Laguna Beach! What a super beautiful coast line. We discovered beautiful little bays and had lunch on the beach. This is absolutely a relax and recharge spot.
Chicago

The last few hours in Chicago. With our heads turned upwards, looking at all the beautiful buildings. The architectural boat tours are a must when you are visiting this gorgeous city! Hopefully next time we can join one.
Chicago

A cold windy day in Chicago!. We walked from Michigan Avenue to Lake Michigan, Eataly, Luxury Garage Sale, Old Town, State Street and finished the day on our king size bed with a bottle of white wine and food in our hotel.
Chicago

Off to Chicago. After we arrived we dressed up and went to the signature room in the Hancock Tower for a drink, diehards we were! Freaky cold! From spring in the Netherlands to winter in Chicago.
Toronto

A wonderful day in Toronto with blue skies, but freezing! Subway, Yorkville, Kensington, Chinatown, vintage shops, having lots of coffee and discovering the great restaurant Smith in Church Street. The staff surprised us with a dessert when they heard we were from the Netherlands! How cute!
Los Angeles

Los Angeles…things started off hecticly with the car keys disappearing in the elevator shaft. So we had to rent a second car after we tried to get the keys out with a magnet on a string. Things were looking more positive when we finally had some good food and wine at Mama D’s in Manhattan Beach. The next day we explored Abbot Kinney Boulevard with beautiful shops and eateries. We went for a short visit on Hollywood boulevard and went to the Grove afterwards.
Johannesburg

Second day in Joburg. Today we went to 4th Avenue in Parkhurst. A designer neighbourhood, with super nice restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and design. We went to the Nelson Mandela Square as well.
Johannesburg

Downtown Johannesburg…a city of extreme opposites: a city with very poor and very rich people. We visited the Apartheid Museum, went on a tour through Soweto, saw the houses of Mandela and Tutu and got a lot of historical background information. We also had a glimpse at the amazingly designed FNB Stadium.
Rio de Janeiro

On Copacabana beach, where a photo shoot of a commercial took place.
Rio de Janeiro
Rio de Janeiro! At seven o’clock in the morning we started a 45 minute’s exercise on the beach. We ran barefoot along the sea from Copacabana to Sugar Loaf and back. Feeling on top of the world! On Sunday’s the people from Rio, young and old, all exercise on the boulevard of Copacabana while the streets are closed for traffic. Afterwards we went to the Ipanema hippie market. This market is always on sunday near Ipanema Boulevard. We visited the famous stairs of Lapa (also known by the video clip of Michael Jackson ‘They don’t care about us’) and discovered Santa Theresa area. Drinking caparinha’s at sunset on the beach of Copacabana is such a nice part of the day. In the evening we headed to restaurant Zaza in Ipanema. What a wonderful day we had!
