Guayaguil is hot and the humanity is almost ninety percent! At the Plaza del Centenario you will find a whole collection of lizards. This place is famous for that. The city is not really spectacular and has not much to offer. We walked to the river and spotted some statues of early brave people who concurred the place or had the power to have impact on their citizens. Not much to tell about Guayaquil in our opinion. So if you have a different experience please share it with us!
Quito

Quito is situated at high altitude, so be aware! We went to the impressive Basilica del Voto Nacional. Instead of christian ornaments you will see lizards, snakes and tropical animals from the Amazon as ornaments on the outside walls. We visited the old city as well. On Plaza Grande o de la Independencia we had a coffee of a quality you could absolutely do without. La Ronda is the hip part of Quito with a lot of art shops and local handcraft products for sale. Thunderstorms made us go back to the hotel. We arrived just in time before heaven opened her doors and a lot of rain came down and changed Quito into a pool!
Hong Kong

Today we had a really lazy day. We started in the afternoon with our first coffee in a nice spot called Coffee Academics. There are a several, but the one on Causeway Bay is their flagship store. We visited PMQ in Soho later on. A former police office which nowadays is packed with nice design stores and pop-up stores. It is all about design, fashion and creative things. Artists reside in this building too and you can follow workshops as well. It is a stage for all things creative! Beside that you can buy food and there is a roof terras to sit and relax. Absolutely worth a visit!
Hong Kong

Arrived in Hongkong in the morning. We had a nap and started with our night program. We at at the Dragon-i, a hot spot for the modelling world. The models eat in the Dragon-i every night . They get paid for their meal, so the restaurant is packed with models every night around nine in the evening till the end of the night. After eleven o’clock all tables will be out and dancing takes over. We felt old with all those beautiful young models around us and ended up in Feather Boa. We drank the famous Daiquiri. Not our ‘cup of Daiquiri’ but the bar is worth a visit. It is a hidden place that’s hard to find, so you have to know the address in advance.
Shanghai

Discovering Xintiandi in Shanghai, a historical district combined with modern influences. There is a small museum called The shikumen open house museum. Nice to visit with free entrance. Xintiandi is a combination of modern and historical aspects. There are a lot of design shops and tiny hip coffee bars. It is frankly just one single street next to the museum that is worth a visit. The nice relaxed ambiance instead of the hussle and bustle of most of Shanghai is a nice gift. We visited the French Concession and afterwards we spent some money in the 580, a fake market with all kinds of fake shopping stuff. Nanjing road offers a lot of restaurants. Most of the time you have to go inside a building and take an elevator that brings you to a nice restaurant or bar somewhere in the sky. Don’t forget to visit the Bund when you are in Shanghai. Always nice to see the famous skyline and take a selfie!
Dubai

Landed in Dubai. A difficult country for us. It is plastic fantastic. There are a lot of hidden rules and we don’t get much inspirational vibes from this country. We spent a few hours at the pool. But after two hours laying in the sun we went back to work. Don’t disturb the sheep is on our minds.
Los Angeles

It was a super trip to Los Angeles again !!! After arriving we went to Manhattan Beach and enjoyed the sunset. The next morning we drove to Big Bear for skiing. A beautiful route through the mountains to Snow Summit. We went skiing for a couple of hours with a temperature of more than 12 degrees Celsius. We drove back through the mountains to Manhattan Beach and ended up in a very nice restaurant Little Sister. A special LA trip with a lot of contradictions: beach versus snow pistes, sand versus snow and flip flops versus ski boots all in one day. What a great new super cool experience we had this time: skiing in LA!
Los Angeles

Back in our second home town LA! We had another great trip. Breakfast on Manhattan Beach at Le Pain Quotidien, continued our day with some nice shopping and having lunch on the beach at Venice Beach. We went to the Comedy Store on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood for a great show in the evening. Big names and we met the manager himself. We got free drinks while waiting. Actually there were no more tickets available but he arranged some ticket for us. The girls from the Netherlands did it again! You only have to say that you are coming from far away and doors will be opened! Next week we go back to LA and then we hope to ski in the mountains of Big Bear. Snowstorms on the mountain stopped us last time. So next week hopefully instead of a bikini with sunglasses we will wear ski boots and a helmet. Stay tuned!
Kuala Lumpur

Yesterday we had to fly from KL to Jakarta and back. In the afternoon we visited the Galeri Petronas in the PETRONAS Twin Towers and explored the art work, including Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Picasso, Miró and contemporary work by native artists from KL. We had dinner at Sao Nam.
Kuala Lumpur

We started with a nice training session in the gym(half past two in the morning Dutch time). Cool down with coffee, croissants and some time at the pool. In the afternoon we went to down town KL by bus. Looking for some vintage items, but we were not in time for this vintage market unfortunately. We will keep that in mind for next time. Because the vintage addresses were located far from the center, we had a nice sightseeing tour with the taxi. We saw the magnificent palace of the King and spotted meanwhile some beautiful architecture on the way back to down town. We had a nice glass of white wine in the trendy rooftop bar Marini’s on 57 with fantastic views of the Petronas towers and excellent hospitality of the staff.
Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur we have contact! We took a nice polaroid with the nice Fujifilm instax mini 8.
Bangkok

Today we started at the pool and after surfing on the internet we found our new goal of the day: we would take a taxi to drive an hour out of town to visit Rot Fai Market. It is also called Train Market and it is a huge vintage market. If you love vintage you have to go to that market! Before we entered the taxi back to the hotel we wanted to take a coffee. It was really weird that we had to leave our flip flops outside the café and got disinfection stuff for our hands before entering the café. Inside the place smelled like there were lots of cats living there. It turned out we had ended up in Makuba Cat Café. The coffee tasted a bit weird after that experience. But worth a visit if you like to hug pets instead of drinking a nice cup of coffee!
